Prof. Lerato Millicent Aghimien is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Construction Management and Quantity Surveying at the University of Johannesburg (UJ), South Africa. She also serves as the Deputy Director of the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Centre of Excellence at UJ.
Prior to her academic career, she worked as a Quantity Surveyor on both local and international projects. This hands-on industry background continues to enrich her teaching and research, allowing her to effectively bridge theoretical knowledge with real-world application in the Built Environment.
Her research focuses on contemporary challenges in the built environment, including workforce management in the digital age and the integration of safety technologies in construction. She is the co-author of the book Construction Workforce Management in the Fourth Industrial Revolution Era, a critical work exploring how construction organisations can innovate and adapt in a rapidly changing technological landscape.
Prof. Aghimien is respected for her leadership in promoting transformative learning and for championing inclusive, innovative, and future-forward practices within the Built Environment.
Glory Moleleki, coming from the construction industry regulatory body, serves as the
Provincial Manager for the Free State at the Construction Industry Development
Board (CIDB) and has a robust track record in strategic planning, policy development
and implementation, as well as enhancing operational efficiency. With a rich history
of service in various key roles within the CIDB, Glory has been pivotal in steering
comprehensive regulatory compliance, fostering sustainable enterprise
development, and championing good governance across provincial construction
sectors.
Her academic credentials are equally impressive, currently pursuing a Doctor of
Business Leadership at the UNISA Graduate School of Business Leadership,
following her Master’s in the same discipline. This academic foundation bolsters her
practical expertise in project and risk management, financial oversight, and strategic
organizational enhancement.
Glory’s leadership extends beyond operational management; she is deeply
committed to skills development, having facilitated training for around 500 SMMEs
in the construction sector, ensuring their long-term sustainability. Her role as
chairperson for both the Contractor Development and Client Procurement Forums
through CIDB’s provincial office underscores her influential presence in shaping
industry standards and practices.
Glory brings a unique blend of strategic vision, industry-specific expertise, and a
profound commitment to advancing the role of women in construction. With her
distinguished career and a personal mission to elevate the standards of the
construction sector, Glory is dedicated to showcasing the critical role women play in
this field and inspiring the next generation of female leaders in construction.
As a seasoned Occupational Health and Safety professional, I bring extensive experience in developing and implementing safety programs, conducting inspections, and fostering a culture of safety in the workplace. With a strong background in technical skills, including AutoCAD and quality assurance, I’ve worked in various industries, including construction, engineering, and manufacturing.
I’m a detail-oriented and proactive individual committed to ensuring regulatory compliance and safeguarding employee well-being. My expertise in strategic planning, risk management, and emergency response planning has enabled me to deliver results-driven solutions in my previous roles.
With a proven track record in safety management and technical support, I’m dedicated to promoting a culture of safety and excellence in the workplace. My strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with management and teams have made me an effective leader in my field.

Mr Thanduxolo Ndyenge is the CIDB’s Provincial Manager for the Western Cape, responsible for leading the implementation of the organisation’s strategic objectives at the provincial level. He plays a central role in building stakeholder partnerships and driving inclusive, sustainable growth in the construction sector.
His professional experience covers infrastructure project management, enterprise development, and skills planning. He has managed programmes centred on SMME development, funding mechanisms, and capacity building—applying a systems approach to public infrastructure delivery and sector transformation.
With a background in technical operations and project environments, Mr Ndyenge offers a practical, development-oriented perspective on construction sector leadership and institutional performance.
Ms. Bogolo Ntombela is a respected academic and advocate for transformation in the built environment sector, currently serving as a lecturer in Quantity Surveying and Construction Management at Tshwane University of Technology. With a career rooted in excellence, she has played a pivotal role in developing curricula that empower future professionals, especially those from previously disadvantaged backgrounds.
Ms. Ntombela is a PhD candidate with a research focus on the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the South African construction industry. Her work explores digital collaboration tools as enablers for innovation and inclusivity in construction processes. She is also deeply invested in advancing gender equity in the built environment, with ongoing research on the empowerment and retention of women in construction and academia.
A member of several professional bodies and academic forums, she is known for bridging theory and practice, and for her contributions to the digital and gender transformation of the construction sector. Her collection of scholarly work on ResearchGate reflects her commitment to promoting sustainable, inclusive, and digitally empowered construction practices.
As a judge for the CIDB Women’s Awards, Ms. Ntombela brings not only her academic and industry expertise but also her unwavering passion for recognising and elevating the contributions of women across the construction value chain.
Prof. Molusiwa Stephan Ramabodu is an accomplished academic and professional quantity surveyor with over two decades of experience spanning higher education, professional consultancy, and leadership in the built environment. He currently serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Construction Management & Quantity Surveying at the Durban University of Technology (DUT), South Africa.
He holds a PhD in Quantity Surveying from the University of the Free State, where his research focused on procurement strategies and cost planning success. His academic career includes progressive roles at the University of Pretoria, University of Johannesburg, and University of the Free State, where he has taught and developed undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, many of which received accreditation under his leadership.
Beyond academia, Prof. Ramabodu is the founder and director of QS-Online Quantity Surveyors, and he has held leadership roles in private practice and national professional bodies, including serving as President of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS). He also chaired the ASAQS Fees Committee and held council chair positions for peer-reviewed journals.
A prolific researcher, Prof. Ramabodu has published over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and 33 international conference papers, making significant contributions to topics such as sustainable construction, construction robotics, procurement systems, and professionalization in the built environment. His work is widely cited and reflects a commitment to both scholarly excellence and practical industry impact.
Prof. Ramabodu has supervised numerous postgraduate students (7 master’s and 3 PhDs to completion) and continues to mentor emerging scholars. He has served as an external examiner at leading institutions and collaborated on national research projects, including a government-funded study on infrastructure costs and timelines.
His achievements have been recognised with awards such as the Pentad Best Academic Paper and substantial external funding for research conferences and public lectures. He is also an active contributor to national policy and industry development through partnerships with bodies such as the CIDB, CETA, and the Council for the Built Environment.
With Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) signed with Makerere University (Uganda) and the University of Valladolid (Spain), Prof. Ramabodu continues to foster international collaboration and academic exchange. His career is defined by leadership, innovation, and a passion for advancing construction education and practice in Africa and beyond.
Martha began her work career as a high school teacher in 1985 after obtaining secondary teacher’s diploma. She later became a matric biology examiner and external examiner for the then Vudec, a division of Vista university for further education and training of teachers. She obtained a BA Degree in 1992 and a B Ed in 1995 from Unisa. She later joined the Vista University – Mamelodi campus as a Curriculum developer (Sexuality education) as a lecturer. Martha later joined the North West Water Supply authority as a training facilitator in 1997. She was head hunted to drive a Literacy project at an Abet centre in Pretoria (Project Literacy) between 1998-2000. Martha established her own construction company in 2001 and undertook as well as completed various projects such as:
Martha and Cynthia established an all woman construction company ‘Blue Disa’. Blue Disa and engaged in a provincial Road Construction (Gauteng highway improvement project) with construction giant Wilson Bailey Holmes.
PREVIOUS BUSINESS ACTIVITIES:
She is a director and shareholder in a well-established civil company- Kaulani Civils North (PTY) Ltd.
She was hands on in the day-to-day activities and responsible for marketing as well as business development. She also handled all the social responsibility programmes for the company.
She also spear headed training programmes for girls through Kaulani Civils North – to train 9 young girls in the field of quantity surveying. These are girls who have excelled in mathematics and science from the 9 provinces of South Africa. Because of her extensive knowledge as an educator as well a member of committee at Ceta (construction and training authority), responsible bursary allocations for Fets, colleges and universities, she managed this successfully.

Not only is she passionate about women empowerment and Literacy programmes, but she is also involved with the shelter for refugees in Pretoria. She solicits food and clothing for the refugees.
He is a Director of Corobrik, appointed to the Board of Corobrik in December 2013. He has prior experience in the Building and Construction Industry, prior to joining Corobrik.
His experience in leadership and more than 35 years’ experience in the building and construction industry.
He held various executive directorship positions in manufacturing and retailing companies.
Qualifications
Sharon is a Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech. Eng.), Professional Construction Project Manager (Pr. CPM) and Project Management Professional (PMP) with 19 years of experience. Her post Pr Tech experience is 10 no. off years, and her post Pr CPM experience is 8no. off years. She successfully completed her MBL (Master’s in Business Leadership) in 2014.
Her extensive experience includes Project Management and Programme Management, in both the public and the private sector across South Africa which include numerous successfully completed high value projects. Her involvement on projects and programmes has been from the pre-feasibility stage through to close out as a Project Lead. She prioritises client needs, meticulously plans, and manages projects, ensures regular liaison with clients, engagement with stakeholders, whilst adhering to approved budgets, delivering accurate, high-quality work and meeting deadlines.
Her keen understanding of the consulting engineering business; corporate governance; the construction industry and Masters in Business Leadership accords her with a unique business acumen that is valued for developing company strategy, marketing efforts and operational efficiency. She has provided input in these areas of the various businesses she has been employed at since 2016.
As an industry contributor, under her chairmanship, SAICE Durban was awarded Branch of the Year in 2021 and 2022. She has attained Fellow status and serves on the Executive Board and several subcommittees at SAICE. Sharon is the recipient of the President’s Award for Meritorious Service in 2022. She is appointed to serve on the 6th Council of the SACPCMP until 2026 as the Vice-President. She is the first female in this position and precedence in South Africa, and also chairs the SACPCMP’s Regulatory Matters Committee.
Clara served as a Member of the Gauteng Provincial Legislature (MPL), participating in various portfolio committees, including Local Government and Housing; Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation (DSACR); Health, Social Development; and the Petitions Standing Portfolio Committee. Additionally, Clara previously contributed to the Gender, Youth, and People with Disabilities Standing Committee (GEYODI). Her tenure as an MPL provided her with the opportunity to engage closely with communities, focusing on community development, poverty alleviation, and economic empowerment through income-generating projects. Working in the constituency office significantly impacted on the lives of many individuals, particularly in addressing challenges within their communities. Notably, her efforts within the Petitions Committee led to the successful resolution of numerous issues faced by constituents.
Clara’s role in the GPL included law making, oversight, governance, and public participation, enhancing my skills in stakeholder negotiations and project management. In 2015, she became an Assistant Director in the Gauteng Department of Sports, Arts, Culture & Recreation, focusing on InterGovernmental Relations and Stakeholder Sponsorships before transitioning to business using my government-acquired skills.
Nolubabalo Tsolo is a seasoned Professional Quantity Surveyor with over 17 years of experience in South Africa’s built environment sector. She is a registered Professional Quantity Surveyor with SACQSP and a Professional Member of ASAQS. Nolubabalo currently serves as the Executive Director of the Association of South African Quantity Surveyors (ASAQS), where she leads strategic initiatives to enhance the visibility, influence, and value of the profession within the industry and society at large.
Her expertise spans both public and private sector infrastructure development, with a strong background in cost planning, financial feasibility, procurement strategy, contract management, and lifecycle costing. Prior to joining ASAQS, she served as Chief Quantity Surveyor at the Gauteng Department of Infrastructure Development, overseeing major capital projects and leading technical due diligence, compliance, and project controls.
Nolubabalo holds a Masters in Land and Property Development Management, a BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying, BSc Quantity Surveying (cum laude), and is currently completing her MBA at Wits Business School. She is also a part-time lecturer at the University of Johannesburg, contributing to the academic development of future professionals in the built environment.
As a champion for transformation and professionalism, Nolubabalo brings a passionate, values-driven leadership style to the industry. Her judging role at the cidb ERWIC Awards reflects her commitment to empowering women in construction, promoting ethical excellence, and recognising meaningful impact in South Africa’s infrastructure landscape.
Given Madiba is the Provincial Manager for Northern Cape in the Construction Industry Development Board (cidb). She has has been with the cidb for 20 years, which, for 15 years she served under the Construction Industry Regulation unit in various roles. In the year 2020 she assumed the role of Provincial Manager which is a key regional leadership position within the cidb. Her role includes overseeing the implementation of the cidb’s products and services, fostering and leveraging stakeholder relations in the public and private sector through strategic interventions and partnerships. Her role places her at the forefront to advance the cidb’s mission of fostering an inclusive, ethical, and prosperous construction sector. Given also served as a judge for the cidb ERWIC Awards in 2025.
